Christian marriage is a solemn and public covenant between a man and a woman in the presence of God.
In the Episcopal Church it is required that one, at least, of the parties must be a baptized Christian;
that the ceremony be attested by at least two witnesses;
and that the marriage conform to the laws of the State and the canons of the Church.
The Book of Common Prayer, p. 422
Weddings
Because a wedding is a service of worship, the guidelines for weddings and music are subject to the same standards as any other worship service at St. Peter’s. All inquiries about the availability of St. Peter’s Church for weddings are first directed to Mary Virginia Woodall, the wedding coordinator (mvwoodall@st-peters.org or 704-749-6141). Please note: Weddings are typically not scheduled during Advent or Lent.
