April 15th:  A presentation about Kids4Peace, a Program involving St. Peter’s Youth

This session discusses how kids are taught to build bridges of peace here and in the Middle East using the philosophy and resources of Kids4Peace, an interfaith education-for-peace initiative. This initiative is sponsored by St. George’s College in Jerusalem, with the cooperation of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem. The Kids4Peace programs bring together Jewish, Christian and Muslim children across the cultural divides in Israel and they concentrate on children at an age when they have not yet acquired the fears and prejudices many of us have.  Lyn will share information about Kids4Peace and a 4 minute video about the Kids4Peace Camp held in NC.

 

April 22 – In Celebration of Earth Day, Environmental Series: Healing creation:  Bit by bit, dog by dog

Our earth and all creation bear many wounds.  Each of us has a calling to help heal a bit of creation.  Elizabeth Richardson helps rescue dogs, a calling which is deeply a part of her spiritual life.  Elizabeth will talk about some ways we can all help rescue dogs and share stories of a few particular dogs, including Mia, an elderly Border Collie saved from a puppy mill.  Join us, and find out how Mia’s life is a glimpse of the peaceful kingdom described by the Prophet Isaiah.

April 29 – Episcopal Relief and Development: How Can We Help End Malaria, AIDS and Poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa

Lyn and Candace will talk about Episcopal Relief & Development and its humanitarian and educational work in Africa and will include a short video about the success of Nets for Life.
